A rhythm game made for Ludum Dare in 48 hours

Follow the beat and match the shape to progress.

I had a day and a half to create this. Scrapped the original idea and was very distractive through the day. But finally accomplished the desire of making a game for compo :D

Controls:

W or Up arrow: move up the lane

S or Down arrow: move down the lane

Space: change shape

Music was made by me during the 48h.

Hope you enjoy. Send me bugfixes (as I'm sure there are many)

The source code is definitely not reusable, lots of stuff were hard coded (perception is deceiving). Don't even bother trying to read it...

Install instructions

Update your JRE (Java) to the latest 1.8 and double click the executable. If that doesn't work, move to the directory using the command line or terminal and type 

java RETRO_MIAMI_BEAT_LD35_v1.010.jar

to run the game. If your terminal does not recognize Java, then you might need to reinstall. Contact me in case of any problems with running Java or the game.

Known issues: 

    Exception in thread "main" 
    java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
    com/wordpress/shapeshiftdance/DesktopLauncher :
    Unsupported major.minor version 52.0

Update your JRE to the latest 1.8 version and you're good to go (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

Holy damn dude best game I played from ludum dare so far. I didn't understand why you mentioned that it is gonna ruin my video card it only used 9% :D

Thank you, thank you a lot, dude! The video's card thing was just a little joke cause it has no graphics, but... with little truth because of the several calls to draw shapes with different colors with Java xD I also really liked your game, I'm writing a comment right now. Good luck for us!
